Drag Veil to ApplicationsDrop it on the Applications shortcut in the window
Open VeilLaunch it from Applications or Spotlight
Mac will show a security warning — this is normal!Click "Done" (don't trash it). Then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click "Open Anyway" next to the Veil message.
You're inVeil appears in your menu bar. Click the bars to start recording.
Why does macOS block it?
Apple blocks apps from developers who haven't paid for an Apple Developer certificate. We're independent developers building privacy-first software. Your data is safe — that's literally what we built this for. We're working on getting certified so this step goes away.
Installation
Run the installerDouble-click the downloaded .exe file
Windows may show a SmartScreen warningClick "More info" then "Run anyway". This happens because we're a new publisher.
Follow the setup wizardChoose your install location and complete the setup
You're inVeil appears in your system tray. Click the icon to start recording.
Auto-updates
Veil checks for updates automatically. When a new version is available, you'll see a notification in Settings. Updates are differential — only the changed parts are downloaded.
